Victoria Kiasyo Isika is a PhD Sociology student at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Her doctoral research focuses on women’s responses to heterosexual intimate partner violence (IPV) in Kenya. Prior to her PhD, she designed and managed large-scale qualitative and quantitative studies on gender-based violence and women’s empowerment in East and Central Africa. She has worked with leading organisations in this field including the Women for Women International, the World Bank, Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, and Innovations for Poverty Action. She currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Inua Kike (Women’s Rising) and on the advisory panel of Well Told Story (Shujaaz Inc.). She holds an MA in Conflict, Security and Development from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.
